The Flickering Flares project can be completed in a weekend. I have been running this project like a full-time delivery driver. Same routes, same containers and minimal detours.
Here's how arc raiders items works: Two core runs that are efficient to clear all residential and utility items. Then, two micro-farms targeted for Fireball Banners. And finally the slow grind of Mushrooms + Candleberries. I will also show you what to do when RNG doesn't cooperate so that you don't waste your time looting stuff without a plan.
Core Strategy: Achieve 80-90% in two runs arc raiders coins
Most people spend a long time looting areas and not item families. The items in this event are grouped by container type and loot themes:
Containers for residential use (kitchen drawers or apartments): coffee pots and frying pans. Candle holders. Albums/film reels.
Water filters, industrial batteries, and other utility items can be made from rusty/breachable boxes plus shelves (for raider camps, hydro structures, or facilities).
Fireball Banners are only available when specific creatures drop.
Event flora containers (raider baskets/caches during Cold Snap) = candleberries, plus reliable mushroom spots.
The fastest way to do this is by combining route density and container targeting.
Run 1: (Power Gen- Apartments-Edge- Hydroponics- Facility-Extract)
This run will hit all relevant container classes once, with little to no backtracking.
The Step-by-Step Route
1. Start the Power Generation Elevator
Check the white vehicle immediately.
The goal: light bulbs
This works because the car is prone to spawning bulbs. I see about 2 per visit and this often meets your bulb requirements early.
2. You can move along the edge of the apartment buildings
First, loot the bottom floors.
Prioritize:
Green kitchen drawers (best density for kitchen items)
Containers that are normal
Among the items you should target are: coffee pots (of course), frying pans and candle holders.
3. Detour: Raider Camp / raider Depot-like spot at the edge
Break every box that is rusted/breachable.
Water filters (large one), extras.
You can find raider baskets on the snow version (source of candyberries).
4. Continue: Finish all apartment buildings on that side
You can find multiple apartment buildings; do not just pick one and leave.
Why: The Residential RNG smoothes out when there are enough drawers/containers on a loop.
5. Rotate: hydroponics complex
Loot:
Shelves
Breachable containers
Water edges/larger water area (for mushroom)
Items to target: Industrial batteries (common in this area), water filters, and mushrooms
6. Pipeline tower – Control tower – Drop into primary facility
More breachable boxes:
Water Filters
Back up chance for industrial battery
7. Extract: Water treatment elevator
Take a quick left and check another nearby white car (often looted but worth a 10-second look).
What Run 1 usually completes
Light bulbs
Coffee Pots
Frying pans
Candle Holders
Water Filters
Industrial Battery
Mushrooms in progress (not always completed)
If you do not craft, use durable cloth + other items such as wine bottles (depending on the project).
Run 2 - Fill in the Gaps (Blue Gate)
This run is a result of high container density and fast resets for residential loot.
Blue Gate: What to Do
Take all the containers from the dense area loop.
Prioritize the trash cans.
Why you should care about trash cans
Trash cans are surprisingly good at releasing film reels. Instead of hunting for film reels at random houses, you can use a container that acts like it is biased towards them.
Bonus: Duct Tape
This is the silent time-sink for many players.
Blue Gate tends to produce ducttape quickly, because it can hit many small containers in a minute.
Keep running the loop if you run out of duct tape before you have finished all residential items. (Albums, reels, extra kitchen pieces) You can avoid doing a second residential run, maybe this time.
Micro-Farms Targeted (Fast and Low-Risk).
After Run 1 and Run 2, you will be looking at a list of Fireball Banners plus Candleberries, and any remaining mushrooms.
Micro Farm A: Fireball Banners
Best practical option: Stella Montis (Business Center loop)
I find several Fireball corpses late in an attack without any fighting.
You don't pay the ammo, healing and time taxes.
Sandbox Alternative
Choose the map that you can survive on most consistently.
I use a low-risk tactic
Bring a low-cost loadout.
Keep up to three banners in a safe pocket.
This means that even if your elimination is confirmed, you can still make progress. Three quick pickups could be a large chunk of what is needed.
Micro Farm B: Mushrooms + Candleberries (Cold Snap efficiency).
Best option: Spaceport during Cold Snap
Look for raider containers (similar to event flora containers).
Although they don't appear as often as the easier event hampers, you can still accumulate a lot of items per run by staying disciplined.
Reliable mushroom spot
A tree grows mushrooms in the Spaceport trench.
You need to reach 7 mushrooms. A couple of clean runs will usually do it.
If Spaceport is not available
Rotate to the Olive Grove and go through the Blue gate:
Check for:
Raider baskets / fruit baskets
Raider caches (listen out for the ticking noise)
Break caches for candleberries during Cold Snap.
This is the grind. But it's controlled: You're not just looting and praying, you're looking for specific containers.
The FAQ
What's the best way to spend 30 minutes?
Run Run 1 to raider camp + apartments, then remove. If you consistently breach, that segment can finish bulbs + residential items + water filter if not more.
2) Only film reels are missing. Where do I look?
Target trash cans and the blue gate. You'll pay extra for lower consistency if you spend time searching kitchens to find reels.
I cannot find an industrial battery. What should I do?
Stop doing extra residential loops. Prioritize shelves and breachables. You can choose between another apartment or another hydro building.
4) Cold Snap doesn't appear on the map that I want. Should I wait?
No. Rotate to Blue Gate Olive Grove and hunt raider caches/baskets during the Cold Snap window. Your total completion time will balloon if you wait for the perfect Spaceport timing.
5) My banners are always removing me before I can. Does it still make sense?
If you use the safe pocket. Even if you die after securing 3 banners, the raid counts as progress. It is usually better than playing too safe for 20 mins and removing with only one.
Wrap-up (What To Run, In Order).
This is the order that I use to complete my work without it becoming homework.
1. Run 1: Power Gen (shelves and mushrooms) – Raider camp (breach box) – Hydroponics (shelves) – Facility (breach).
2. Run 2: Blue gate dense loop (trash cans + containers) until residential + duct tape are done
3. Micro-Farm: Stella Montis Business Center for Fireball Banners (or Sandbox), with secure pocket banking
4. Micro-Farm A: Spaceport Cold Snap outskirts plus trench tree for mushroom + candleberries; fallback to Blue gate Olive Grove when Cold Snap occurs
If you follow this sequence, your time will be spent on containers that are likely to succeed and not ones that may fail.
