Celosia is a vivid flower that is perfect as a decoration inside your home or as a part of your summer garden, which produces beautiful blooms from the mid of summer to early autumn. This frost-tender flower can also be treated as an annual, and one of its best aspects is that it is present in diverse shades of orange, pink, red, and green. The distinct appearance of this flower is the main reason why numerous people are interested in growing the Celosia flower in their gardens.

How can you grow Celosia flowers?

There are two different types of Celosia that you can grow: Celosia Plumosa and Celosia cristata. Both of these blooms can be a wonderful part of your garden, and growing them is quite similar. If you are buying a ready-grown plant, then you should plant it in early summer; however, if you are interested in growing a Celosia from its seed, then it should be sown in spring.

One of the most important factors for Celosia Plant care is its location. You should choose a location that is warm, sheltered, and receives direct sunlight for at least 6 hours daily.

Ready-grown Celosias should be planted in a small pot, and once they have been established properly, you can shift them to a large container if you wish to keep them indoors. You should choose a good soil mix that is peat-free and make sure that the top of the root ball is at the same level as the soil.

Watering is another thing that you should keep consistent, but make sure that you do not overwater the plant, as it can lead to root rot. Using a liquid fertilizer once every 15 days will ensure better flowering, and if you wish to keep your plant tidy and encourage more blooms, then you should cut off faded flowers.
